Pathways Ayrshire Programme

Momentum’s Pathways programme in Irvine, North Ayrshire assists adults who have brain injuries to live independently, to re-integrate into their communities and to embark on the process of vocational rehabilitation.

Pathways is tailored to meet the different needs of each person. The programme offers one to one meetings with staff to identify your needs and goals. There is also a weekly group training session which most people attend.

The guidance, support and training offered covers many different areas such as:

• Brain Injury Awareness
• Cognitive redevelopment
• Confidence building
• Communication
• Relaxation techniques
• Anger management

Pathways also provide people with the opportunity to return to paid employment, volunteer work or further training. This is offered through:

• Helping you to identify suitable types of work
• Accessing different work experiences
• Job coaching
• Helping with applications and interview techniques

If required, support is provided, through working in partnership with other organisations, for a range of issues which may act as barriers to those with a brain injury such as housing and benefit problems, health difficulties, legal matters etc.

Aftercare is also available so that people can continue to receive support on an occasional basis after they have moved on from the programme and they can return for further support if relevant.
