Strengthening Voices, Making Choices
This service aims to maximise the independence and quality of life of young people aged between 18-35, based in Glasgow and surrounding areas, who possess an acquired brain injury/neurological condition.
The service is delivered by our team of a:
• Occupational Therapist
• Assistant Psychologist
• Peer Support Worker
The service is based in our office in Govan
How To Get Involved:
Referrals to the service can be completed by yourself over the phone, in person, by email/ letter or through our Facebook page. You can also be referred from any service you may be involved in such as:
• Social Work
What does the service provide
This service has been developed to meet the ongoing rehabilitation needs of young people, once they are discharged from hospital.
A member of our multi-disciplinary team will meet with the young person to develop a full rehabilitation package tailored to meet their needs.
We offer two strands of support under the following headings:
• Strengthening Voices
• Making Choices
Strengthening Voices is a series of workshops and one to one activities that supports the young person and their family , focusing on the needs which result from an acquired brain injury/ neurological condition.
These needs may be :

• Improving Relationships
• Personal Development
Our Peer Support Worker, who has lived experience of an acquired brain injury, will provide additional support to our participants instilling belief that rehabilitation is possible.
Making Choices will focus on supporting the young person to broaden their range of social contact, engage in further group activities and consider moving forward onto community activities, volunteering and further education.
